Under the general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, the Dean of Student Equity and Support Programs has a primary responsibility for providing leadership,planning, evaluation, development and administrative oversight for the following areas: Equity,Guardian Scholars/Foster Youth, Homeless At-Risk Transitional Student (HARTS), Queer Resource Center, and City DREAM. The Dean of Student Equity and Support Programs performs a variety of administrative duties to advance the college’s student equity goals of ensuring equitable educational opportunities for all students, regardless of race, gender, age, disability,or economic circumstances. The dean develops and coordinates student equity and success initiatives related to the academic, student support, and social needs of students from culturally and socially diverse backgrounds. The Dean leads the coordination with other College departments in the effective delivery of student success and support services initiatives to ensure that the College fulfills its responsibility in Student Equity and Achievement. The Dean will work collaboratively with all groups across the campus to implement strategies, execution of innovative partnerships that increase student access and success.
